Willis Sargent, of Harrison, passed away on February 24, 2024, at the age of 92. Willis was born on December 2, 1931 in Barrenfork, KY to Ephraim and Emily (nee Martin) Sargent. Willis met Ethel Perry at church, and they married on January 14, 1956, and were married for 68 years. He was a wonderful example of a loving husband to his two daughters Carol and Brenda. Willis retired from Gold Medal Products in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he worked for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, going to turkey shoots, fishing and camping. A favorite memory of the family was camping at Lake Cumberland. He loved his family. Willis enjoyed gospel music and vegetable gardening. He was a member of Faith United Baptist Church in Cincinnati. Willis was a hard worker in life, and he taught his children if they wanted something to work for it. He also taught them to be at peace with people and love everyone.
Willis is survived by his beautiful wife of 68 years Ethel (Perry) Sargent; daughters and their husbands: Carol (Mike) Draper and Brenda (Bill) Neyer; cherished grandchildren that referred to him as "Papa": Scott (Anyssa) Draper, Alisha Draper, Billy Neyer, Jacob Neyer, Hannah (Deven) Johnson; great grandchildren: Tucker & Magnolia Johnson & Logan, Blake & Kyla; dear brother of : Dorthene (Gene) Jones & Charlene (Calvin) Meadows; brother-in-law of Della Loudermilk; and uncle to many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents: Ephraim and Emily (nee Martin) Sargent; sister: Delphia (Lloyd) Coffey; brothers: Dillard (Gladys), Bobby, & Billy Ray Sargent.
Visitation will be held at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine Street, Harrison, OH 45030 on Thursday, February 29, 2024, from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at 12 pm with Rev. Kelly Barnes and Rev. Warren Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
