William C. Hodapp, age 81, of Greendale, IN, passed away peacefully at his home on June 19, 2020. He was born on August 24, 1938 in Cincinnati Ohio to the late Clarence Peter Hodapp and Georgetta (nee O’Brien) Hodapp. Bill served in the US Navy from 1955 to 1959. Bill married Mary Ann Means on January 21, 1961 and wasblessed with 5 daughters: Julia, Lisa, Mary Lynn, Jean and Karen. Bill worked as a production Supervisor for Gallo Winery, and lived in Modesto, CA until his retirement in 1999.
In his spare time, Bill enjoyed working on many projects in his workshop. Bill was a machinist by trade. He had the ability to fix just about anything. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and visiting friends. Bill also enjoyed the outdoors, birds, dogs, woodworking and gardening. He was fun loving and always had a joke. He was a man of faith.
Those left to cherish Bill’s memory are his loving wife: Mary Ann (Means) Hodapp; dear children: Julia Hodapp, Lisa (Doug Emery) Hodapp, Mary “Lynn” (Dave) Hotel, Jean Hodapp, Karen (David) Haverbusch; cherished grandchildren; Monica (Kevin)Turner, Natalie Hodapp, Katelyn Schwendenmann, Lauren , David (Lori), Hannah and John Hotel, Joseph Sarah and Michael Haverbusch; and great grandchildren; Madison,Griffin, Aria and Bo David Turner, Brittany Burke, James, Kara, Lucas and Travis Hotel. Also survived by his siblings: Edward (Dorothy) Hodapp, James (Charlene) Hodapp and Mary Weldishofer; mother in law Angela Kropfeld; sister in law Janice (Robert) Middendorf; many nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Peter Hodapp and Georgetta Hodapp, brothers in law Joseph Weldishofer, Steven Means, David Means; sister in law Emily Means, and dear friend John Schoenung.
Visitation will be held on Monday June 22, 2020 from 6 pm to 7:30 PM at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine Street, Harrison, OH 45030. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at 10:30am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 25 East Harrison Avenue, North Bend, OH 45052. Burial with Military rights provided by the Harrison Honor Guard and the US Navy to follow at Greendale Cemetery.
