Victoria "Vicky" Ashley Obituary

Victoria Gay Ashley, of Bright, Indiana, passed away on May 10, 2023, at the age of 71,  after a long courageous battle against Alzheimer's.

Vicky was born on December 27, 1951, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Clyde and Maggie (nee Belt) Hall.  After a chance meeting Robert J. Ashley was able to get her phone number in January of 1969 and they were married August 2, 1969. The best decision of Robert's life and he always says he was blessed that he was cruising in his corvette and met her.  Vicky enjoyed being a mom to Robert, Bryan, and Brandy.   She went above and beyond the call when helping the football and baseball programs.  From painting all the football helmets the same color to making the bases for baseball.  She was always there for her family.  She was selfless and always went out of her way to help others.  Vicky taught by example that you could accomplish anything you put your mind to.  She enjoyed crocheting and sewing and started doing upholstery work in her spare time.  Later in life she went to work at Walmart and was a Cake Decorator.  She enjoyed baking and was very creative, so it was a perfect job for her.

Vicky will be dearly missed by her beloved husband Robert J. Ashley; children: Robert (Jeanette) Ashley, Bryan Ashley, and Brandy (Matt Pease) Ashley; cherished grandchildren: Ryan (Jordan) Lamping, Kayla (Joseph Graham) Ashley, Kennedy Ashley, Hunter (Jake Partin) Boggs, Jacob (Megan Rader) Boggs and Alex Smith; great grandchild: Maddox Lamping; dear sisters: Pat Cook, Janet Bales and Jeannie Sebatian and many nieces and nephews.

Vicky was preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Maggie Hall, and brother Donny Hall.
