Mary Virginia Kumpf, age 98, of Sayler Park, passed away on July 30, 2020. She was born on December 6, 1921 in Cincinnati, Ohio to James and Matilda (nee Pessler) Murray. She went to grade school at St. Al's on the Ohio and then went to Seton and was a class of 1939 graduate. She married Robert C. Kumpf and they were blessed with 5 children: Patrick, Barbara, Carol, Jim, and Kelly. Virginia stayed home and raised her children and when they were grown, she enjoyed her second career in sales/interior design at Ralice Studio. She enjoyed decorating and retired after 17 years. An avid reader, interested in politics and history, and a founding member of the Sayler Park Historical Society.
Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert C. Kumpf in 1994; her parents: James and Matilda Murray; siblings: Morris "Bud" (Gert), Jim (Mary), Don (Betty, living), Frankie, Peggy Murray; brother-in-law Norb Shibinski
Survivors include her loving children: Patrick (Janet) Kumpf, Barbara (Anthony) Martini, Carol (Daniel) Kittle, Jim (Cecelia) Kumpf, Kelly (Michael) Sizemore; 15 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren; dear sister Patricia Shibinski; sister-in-law Betty Murray as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Private Mass of Christian Burial will be held for immediate family at 11 am, Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at St. Aloysius on the Ohio. Services will be live-streamed at https://www.facebook.com/braterwinterfh .
