Margaret Prechtel Obituary

Margaret A. (nee Riter) Prechtel, passed away on March 21, 2018 at the age of 100. She was born in Cleves, Ohio on November 20, 1917 to John and Thelma (nee Hughes) Riter. She grew up with her sister Jean. She married Hilbert W. Prechtel and they were blessed with two daughters: Janice and Judith. She enjoyed Vacationing to Florida, going to dinner and a good Martini. Margaret loved dancing and was extremely smart. She always had a home remedy for any health issues. Margaret enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren and they loved how she always took good care of each one of them. She was always generous and helping family and friends. Margaret was always dressed when going out even if it was to the store. She will be greatly missed by her family especially her daughter: Janice J. Elsen ; Cherished grandchildren: Joseph (Juanita) Jackson, Paul (Rebecca) Nagel, Heidi (Joe) Siler, Leo (Jessica) Elsen; 4 great grandchildren: Devin Nagel, Ciara Nagel, Dylan and Cheyenne Casey; her younger sister Jean Carpenter; and her son-in-law Benny A. Jackson. Also survived by nieces and nephews.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Hilbert W. Prechtel, her parents John and Thelma Riter and her daughter Judith Jackson.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2018 from 10 AM until the time of service at 12 PM in Brater-Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St., Harrison, OH 45030. Burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Hospital or Masses to be said in her memory. You can bring your donation to the funeral home during the visitation or service and give to a funeral home representative. If you are unable to attend mail your donation to the funeral home.
