Joseph Schwendenmann Obituary

Joseph H. Schwendenmann, life long Sayler Park resident, passed away on August 22, 2021 at the age of 92.  He was born on December 5, 1928, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Edward and Elizabeth (nee Fliehman) Schwendenmann. He served in the US ARMY from 1947 to 1949.  Joe married Kathryn Stein and they were blessed with three children: JoAnn, Janet and Joseph. Joe and his two brothers: James and Raymond ran Schwendenmann Brother's Roofing company, which they were third generation owners.  Joe enjoyed fixing things, working lottery numbers for fun and in recent years depositing & cashing out money in local Casino's.  Joe also enjoyed traveling anywhere his car would take him and frequented the coastal states more often.  In life he taught his children and grandchildren how to have a good work ethic, patience, understanding and how to care for others.  

Joe was preceded in death by his wife: Kathryn (nee Stein) Schwendenmann; parents: Edward and Elizabeth (nee Fliehman) Schwendenmann; sister: Margaret Schwendenmann; Brother: Raymond Schwendenmann; and sister-in-law: Judy Schwendenmann. 

Those who are left to carry out Joe's legacy are his children: JoAnn (John) Lucas, Janet Shea, Joseph Schwendenmann; cherished grandchildren: Steven (Luann) Lucas, Stephanie (Chad) Shuping, Jennifer (Pat) Rohan, Pamela and Benjamin (Annie) Shea; beloved great grandchildren: Sara, Zachery, Anna, Christopher, Gabby, Chesley, Hudson, Elise, Vivian, Evie & baby Josh (due any day,) Jena Rohan, Patrick (Krista) Rohan. great great grandchildren Addison, Alexis, Shelby. He is also survived by his brother: James Schwendenmann; and sister-in-law: Margie Schwendenmann; and many nieces and nephews. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Al's on the Ohio, 134 Whipple Street, Sayler Park, OH 45233 on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at 10 AM with Fr. Bryan Rief officiating. Entombment will be following the mass at St. Joseph Cemetery, West 8th street.
