John R Scholle

John Robert Scholle, of Bright, IN, passed away on November 3, 2023, at the age of 80 years old.  John was born on May 23, 1943, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Edwin and Catherine (Kroeger) Scholle. His sister set him up on a date with Catherine Estes and they were married on June 8, 1968.  John got a job with the Pipefitters Union 392 and he had a long career with them.  John and Cathy were blessed with 4 boys: Ed, Shawn, Rob, and Aaron. He was an active member of St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross and was the Head of the Prayer Chain.  John was also active in the Knights of Columbus.  Sunday morning breakfasts at Logan Super Mart with his sisters and brother-in-law was his weekly ritual and meant so much to him.  John and Cathy also enjoyed attending musicals together.  

Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years Cathy (Estes) Scholle; sons: Ed (Barbara), Shawn (Deb), Rob (Tina), Aaron (Kayla) Scholle; cherished grandchildren: Jonathon, Kylie, Dakota, Makayla, Lilly, Hunter, Ellie, Jon & Becca; siblings: Jim (Lucia) Scholle, Diana (Terry) Wheat, Debbie (Joe) Macke, Denise Weisenbach & Doreen Brayton and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents: Edwin & Catherine (Kroeger) Scholle; brother-in-law Linus Weisenbach.

Gathering of Friends will be held at St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross Church on December 2, 2023, from 9:30 am until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am with Fr. Hollowell officiating.
