Irene O (Purdum) Obrecht Estes

Irene (née Purdum) Obrecht Estes of West Harrison, IN passed away on June 29,2021 at the age of 92.  She was born on January 2, 1929 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Homer S. and Ada Lee (Selsor) Purdum.  She was the loving wife of the late Chester Jacob Obrecht and the late Donald Lee Estes.  Beloved mom of Chester ‘Alan’ (the late Annie) Obrecht; bonus mom of Donna (the late Ken) Stothfang, Rick (Gail) Estes, & Cathy (Doug) Hammond.  Dear grandma of 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. 

Irene loved her church and was dedicated to love and service to God and others.  She enjoyed working and was proud of graduating Mount St. Joseph College at the age of 50.  While in college she became a mentor and friend to many younger ladies at the college.

Visitation will be at Dearborn Hills United Methodist Church, Bright, IN, on Friday July 2, 2021 from 2 pm until the time of the service at 3 pm.  Inurnment will be at Arlington Memorial Gardens at a later date. 

Memorials are requested to Dearborn Hills U.M.C or St. Elizabeth Hospice through the funeral home.
