Henrietta Brater Obituary

Henrietta (nee Stockhoff) Brater, age 85, of West Harrison, IN passed away on May 17, 2020 at Mercy West Hospital. She was born on September 5, 1934 in Cincinnati, Ohio the sixth of 14 children born to the late Clifford and Emma (nee Milton) Stockhoff. Henrietta married Donald Lee Wilson on October 4, 1952 and they were blessed with 2 daughters: Cynthia and Kimberly. Donald passed away on October 13, 1962. A few years later she married Edwin Brater Jr. on January 23, 1965 and they were blessed with two boys Edwin and Michael Roy. Henrietta was a beautician and had her own salon for many years. She enjoyed being a mother and homemaker. Henrietta also was a wonderful seamstress and was crafty.

Preceded in death by her husbands: Donald Lee Wilson and Edwin Brater Jr.; parents: Clifford and Emma Stockhoff; grandchildren: Philip Alvis and Casey Kelly; siblings: Helen Hientz, Lucille Essert, Shirley Hahn, Thelma Bowman, Betty Lewis, Clifford, Ronnie, Donnie, James, Richard Stockhoff.

Survivors include her children: Cynthia (Randy) Alvis, Kimberly (Bryan) Kelly, Edwin (Lisa) Brater III, and Michael Roy Brater; grandchildren: Nicholas (Adrian) Alvis, Benjamin (Alicia) Alvis, Edwin Brater IV and Ashley (Justin) Runck; great grandchildren: Cash, Josi, Hailey, Ethan, Mia, Nora & Levi. Also survived by siblings: Patty (Stanley) Snyder, Peggy Neeley and Dennis (Melody "Dee") Stockhoff and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family visitation will be held Friday, May 22, 2020 from 11 am until the time of the prayer service at noon in Brater Winter Funeral Home. Pastor Mark Garrett officiating the services. Burial to follow at New Haven Cemetery at 12:45 pm. If you would like to attend the graveside service you can come to the funeral home and drive in procession to New Haven Cemetery. Bring a chair if you might need to sit down.
