Franklin Burchfield Obituary

Franklin D. "Johnny" Burchfield, age 85 of Harrison, passed away on Friday morning, June 14, 2019 at Shawnee Springs in Harrison, after suffering many illnesses. He was born on May 2, 1934 in Matewan, WV to Mary Murphey and Robert Burchfield. He married Patricia "Pat" Stone on July 14, 1960. Johnny was a custodian for Southwest Local School District and retired in 1999. He went on to drive a shuttle van for a hotel to the airport. Before working for the school district, he worked at H&S Pogue company and owned his own business laying carpet. Johnny was a member of New Life Church of Christ. He enjoyed going to High School football games, camping, traveling and spending time with family. And of course, watching UK basketball. Johnny was preceded in death by his wife Patricia "Pat" Burchfield, mother Mary Murphey, Father Robert Burchfield, Sisters: Evelyn Donohoe, and Helen Sturgell.

Survivors include his son: Frank (Jenny) Burchfield; Stepsons: Steve (Loralyn) Schuh, Don (Penny) Schuh; Grandchildren: Ericka (Bryon) Peyton, Ashley, Nico, Scott (Amy), Jason (Lori), Joseph, Brian (Candy) Jamie (Natashia); Great-grandchildren: Chance, Kyle, Adam, Dara, Tyler, Emily; great-great-grandchildren Sophia, Hope, Adrianna, and Hazel-Rose.

Visitation will be held at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St., Harrison, Ohio on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 from 5 PM until the time of the funeral service at 7 PM. Graveside services will be held on June 20, 2019 at 10 AM at St. John's Catholic Cemetery. Family & Friends are asked to meet at cemetery at 9:50 AM

Memorials may be made to Big Brothers and Big Sisters. You may either bring your donation to the funeral and give to a funeral home representative or you may mail your donation made payable to the charity to Brater Winter Funeral home. 201 S. Vine St., Harrison, OH 45030. The funeral home will notify the family of your donation.
