Dorca Hernandez

Dorca Hernandez, age 67 of Harrison, Ohio, Passed away on August 13, 2015 at the Harrison Medical Center. She was born June 23, 1948 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic to Berta (Polanco) and the late Carlos Hernandez. She moved to New York City and was a seamstress for a children's clothing manufacture. She married the late Delio Cocco. She loved making children's clothing and enjoyed it up until her health limited her ability. She moved from New York to Florida and recently moved to Harrison to be with her daughter Joanna and her son in law Chris Kemper. However, her real reason to move close was her granddaughter Nadia Grace Kemper who was the light of her life. Dorca was very active in her Church in Florida's youth group. She was known for being a wonderful cook. You would gain 5 lbs walking in the door because even if you weren't hungry she would make you something. Her kind hearted spirit will be missed.

Survivors include her mother: Berta (Polanco) Hernandez; daughter: Joanna (Chris) Kemper; granddaughter: Nadia Grace Kemper; brothers & sisters: Carlos A., Edgar, Luis M., Socorro, Delia, David, Daniel, Carlos S., Charles, Moises, Malin, Carlos, Rebeca, Radelis (Lourdes) & Ramon Hernandez.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 from 1 PM until the time of the funeral service at 1:30 PM at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St. Harrison, Ohio. If you would like to send flowers please send a perennial because the family plans on making a garden in Dorca's memory in their yard.
