Carl Edward Wilhelm, 82 of Huntington, WV passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at his residence. Carl was born in Hamilton, OH, the son of the late Carl and Marietta (Horner) Wilhelm. He grew up in St. Leon, IN. Carl started his career as a carpenter and retired from Lee Construction as a Superintendent 57 years later. He was a member of the Carpenters Union, enjoyed playing golf and cards with family and friends. Frying chicken was always a passion of his especially during the annual NASCAR race with his children.
Loving memories of Carl will be carried on by his wife of 34 yrs.: Barbara Plymale Wilhelm; cherished children: Diane Wilhelm, Lisa (Greg) Rask, Karla (Glenn) Sarigumba, Brian (Cynthia) Wilhelm; and his step-daughter: Suzie Elliott; beloved grandchildren: Vanessa Meyer (Andrew), Mateo Wilhelm, Ian and Nathan McSwain, Quade and Quinlan Wilhelm; adored great-grandchildren: Ethan, Elijah and Rowan Meyer, Audria and Mila Wilhelm; and sister Bernice (Andy) Wilhelm-Nelson. Additional survivors: two brothers-in-law and their spouses: Mickey (Kathy) Plymale, and David (Gina) Plymale; and two special friends, Dwayne Tackett and Ron “Woody” Wood, Jr..
Carl was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters: Esther Cross, and Roberta Brown; and brothers: Stanley, Irven and Robert Wilhelm.
A visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 22 at Reger Funeral Home, Huntington, West Virginia.
Visitation will also follow at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201, S. Vine Street, Harrison, Ohio on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, from 5 pm to 8 pm. Funeral Blessing will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at 11 AM at Brater Winter Funeral Home. Entombment to follow at Miamitown Cemetery, Miamitown, Ohio.
