Bessie Bast Obituary

Bessie Mae, age 88, resident of Cincinnati, passed away on Sunday September 14th, 2014. She was born to parents, Pearl & Clara (nee Moyer) Kearns on September 29, 1925 and had 2 sisters, Lillian & Mary Ann. Bessie married Grant Albert Layman on December 3, 1942 and this union brought 3 children, Cheryl "Sherry", Sheila and Terry Lee. She spent most of her working life as a waitress, and was always working. Bessie loved to read, sew and had a love of dogs. Throughout her lifetime, she had many "furry" children whom she loved. She was baptized into the Bridgetown Church of Christ in October of 1974.

Those surviving who will honor Bessie's memory include loving daughters: Cheryl "Sherry" (Terry) Ott, & Sheila Ann (Gary) Haas; beloved grandchildren: Carla Marie (Ron) Quercioli, Tony Michael (Lisa) Esposito, Nichole Lynn Rotert, and Chad (Christina) Haas; cherished great grandchildren: Sydney M. Quercioli, Johnathon M., Jaycie M., & Anthony Esposito, Bennett, Isabella, Cooper & Coen Rotert, and Avery Haas; loving sister: Lillian Jamison; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son: Terry Lee Layman, and sister: Mary Ann Stratton.

Graveside services will be held, Monday, September 22, 2014 at 11:15 AM at David's Cemetery, 4610 Mad River Road, Kettering, Ohio 45429.
