Alice Dole Obituary
Alice Jean Dole (nee Grubbs) age 86 of Harrison, OH passed away on September 30, 2018.
Alice was born on July 12, 1932 in Dearborn County, Indiana to Robert and Bonnie (nee Sykes) Grubbs. At a young age her parents passed away and was raised by her aunt and Uncle Russell and Dorothy Grubbs. Alice married Fred Leo Dole Jr. on May 7, 1952 and they were blessed with three sons: Fred Rick, Steve and Jeff. Alice enjoyed gardening and enjoying the sun. She didn't have her drivers license but she could tell you how to get anywhere. Alice loved vacationing with her family.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband Fred Leo Dole Jr. in 2005 and her parents: Robert and Bonnie Grubbs.
Those who will cherish Alice's memory are her sons: Fred Rick (Deborah) Dole, Steve (Debora) Dole and Jeff (Tina Brown) Dole; special niece: Kim (David) Pruitt; beloved grandchildren: Alyson (Craig) Sidwell, Amanda (Ron) Miller, Andrew (Abbey) Dole, Corinne Dole, Sergio Dole and Edgar Dole; Cherished great grandchildren: John Fredrick "Jack", Anna, Charlotte, Claire, Lauren and Maddie; brother: Sydney Grubbs; sister in law: Hazel Schuck; and brother in law: James Dole. Also survived by her good friend Patty Vines and neighborhood friends.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 from 5-8 PM at Brater Winter Funeral Home, Harrison. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Harrison, OH, with Father Jeff Kemper officiating. Graveside services will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Harrison. Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent De Paul Society of Harrison or Children's Hospital through the funeral home.
