Leo Gabbard Obituary

Leo Gabbard, resident of West Harrison, IN, passed away April 11, 2018 at Drake Hospital at the age of 72. He was born on August 17, 1945 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Woodrow "Wilson" and Mary (nee Newcomer) Gabbard. He was the loving husband of the late Marye Y (nee Okura) Gabbard. Devoted father of Scott (Kristie) Gabbard, Patt (Claude) Payne, George "Kris" Sand, Doug (Ann) Sand, Chris (Dale) Brewsaugh, Alan (MaryJo) Sand, Jeff (Lisa) Sand. Cherished grandfather of 12 grandchildren & 20 Great grandchildren. Beloved brother of Mary Jo (Stanley) Schmidt, Marvin (Barb) Gabbard and preceded in death by a sister Mavis.

Many people knew Leo from Gabbard Feed, which he started in 1984 and then in 2002 Leo also started Gabbard Excavating. He was proud of what he accomplished in life but he was also very proud of his family. Leo loved to work. He enjoyed working outdoors on his equipment. He was an active Mason and belonged to Harmony Lodge 11 in Brookville, IN.

Gathering of friends will be held on Sunday, April 15, 2018 from 3 PM until the time of the Masonic Services at 6 PM followed by a memorial service in Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St., Harrison, OH 45030. Memorials may be made to Drewersburg Fire/EMS, Franklin County EMS or American Diabetes Association. You can mail to the funeral home or bring your memorial to the visitation or Funeral and a funeral home representative will help you.
