James Stauter Obituary

James Matthew Stauter, of Bright, IN, passed away June 2, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was born on January 19, 1952 in Dayton, Ohio to Robert McClure Stauter and Mary Jane (nee Weaver) Stauter. He graduated high school and served his Country with Honor from November 1971 to October 1973 in the US Marine Corp. He married Mary Jody Hartfiel on June 13, 1981. He lead by example of how to be a faithful servant of God to his 4 children: Matthew, Ryan, Heather and Jason. Jim worked over the years as a Chemical Locomotive Operator for Fernald, a motorcycle mechanic and also for a HVAC/ Electric Company. He also operated a Professional Sharpening service for Knives and Scissors and fixed Vacuums. Jim loved motorcycles, vacuums and knives. In his retirement years he was a school bus driver. Out of all the things he was most proud of was his faith and his family.



Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife: Jody Stauter; loving children: Matthew Paul Stauter, Ryan Andrew (Mollie) Stauter, Heather Rachel (Terry) Hubbs, Jason (Patti) DeVries; Grandchildren: James, Zavier, Alix, Gracie, granddog Sadie and Baby Hubbs arriving in Nov. 2018; dear brother Mark Stauter.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents: Robert and Mary Jane Stauter and Aunt and Uncle: Don & Kathryn Cox.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 from 12 PM to 2 PM at Brater Winter Funeral Home. Graveside services to follow at Gibson Cemetery, Bright, IN. With Military Honors to follow provided by American Legion Post 199. A reception will follow the graveside.
