Douglas Abrams Obituary

Douglas Lee Abrams, Sr. resident of Harrison, passed away on January 27, 2019 at the age of 90. He was born on January 11, 1929 in Ludlow, KY to the late Wylie and Edith (nee Graven) Abrams. Doug served Honorably in the US Marine Corps from August 10, 1951 to August 9, 1953. He met Carole L. Thorn and they were married 3 months later on November 5, 1964. They were blessed with two children: Douglas and Cindy. Doug was a licensed funeral director and worked for Radel Funeral Home until 1988. After retirement he enjoyed watching sports, Channel 12 News and traveling with his wife Carole. Doug was a storyteller of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky History. He also had a sweet tooth for cherry pie.

Those surviving who will cherish his memory are his son: Douglas, Jr. and his wife Cindy Abrams; Daughter: Cindy and her husband Tom Rich; loving grandchildren: Jacob and Nolan Abrams, Michael, Matthew and Ryan Rich.

Douglas Sr. was preceded in death by his wife Carole and his parents: Wylie and Edith Abrams.

Visitation will be on Friday, Feb. 1, 2019 from 10:00 until the time of the service at 11 AM at Legacy Christian Church; 207 North Vine St., Harrison, Oh 45030. A reception will be held following the service at the church. Burial will be Friday, February 1, 2019 at 2 PM at Highland Cemetery, 2167 Dixie Hwy., Ft. Mitchell, KY 41012.
