Donna Deutenberg Obituary
Donna Mae Deutenberg, age 82 of Sayler Park died on Saturday, September 28, 2019. She was born on February 20, 1937 in Sharon, PA to Harry B. and Eleanor F. (nee Caldwell) McClearn. She married Thomas W. Deutenberg and were blessed with three children: Anne, Dan, and Tad.
Donna worked at the University of Cincinnati for 30 years as an administrative assistant. She took pride in her work at UC. Donna loved to garden and was part of the Fernbank Garden Club. She maintained many life-long friendships with people in her neighborhood. Donna enjoyed playing Bridge and hosting Christmas brunches and other neighborhood parties throughout the years. In 1978, Donna started the annual Fernbank progressive dinner which continues today. Donna liked to spend weekends shopping for antiques with her friends. She was a wonderful baker and enjoyed baking Thanksgiving pies and beautiful trays of Christmas cookies to share with her family and friends.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband Thomas W. Deutenberg (2017) of 57 years; her parents: Harry B. McClearn and Eleanor F. (nee Caldwell) McClearn; and sister Margaret E. Rogers.
Survivors include her beloved children and their spouses: Anne (Ernst) Macke, Dan (Charlene) Deutenberg & Tad (Micki) Deutenberg; 7 cherished grandchildren: Sarah, Ernst & Katherine Macke, Stephan & Greyden Deutenberg, Corrine & Lukas Deutenberg.
Visitation from 10 AM to 11 AM on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Brater-Winter Funeral Home, 138 Monitor Ave., Sayler Park. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:30 AM at St. Aloysius on-the-Ohio, 134 Whipple St., Sayler Park. Burial will follow at St. Joseph New Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Bayley. You may bring your donation to the Mass and a funeral director will be able to assist you with your donation. If you are unable to make the service then mail your donation made payable to Bayley and mail to the funeral home Brater-Winter Funeral Home, 138 Monitor Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45233.
