David Andres Obituary
It is with great sadness to announce the passing of David K. "Stretch" Andres, age 67 of Harrison, on March 18, 2020. He was born on February 21, 1953 in Hamilton, Ohio to the late Vincent C. and Betty Lou (nee Smith) Andres.
Many of us knew him from the American Legion where he has been an active member of the Sons of the American Legion and has been the Commander. Stretch had a heart of gold and enjoyed volunteering. When younger he helped with youth football and was active in many things that gave him joy in life. Stretch worked as an accountant for Ohio Indiana Kentucky Regional Council of Governments (OKI) for many years until he retired. After retirement he worked on his golf game....... where he always seemed to be missing a few strokes every round on the score card. Stretch will be missed by some dear friends and his extended family at the Legion where he enjoyed hanging out.
He will also be missed by his brothers: Vincent (Barbara) Andres & Dennis Andres; nephews: Tom Andres, Doug Andres, Eric Andres, and Alex Andres. He is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles, cousins and his Legion Family.
Due to the current situation we are offering friends to stop by Brater Winter Funeral Home from 11 am to 5 pm on Sunday, March 22, 2020. The family will not be present however, this is a time for people to come and say a prayer, sign the register book, take a prayer card, make a donation and if you would like to leave a video or audio memory the funeral home will record and put on a video for the family.
Graveside services will be on Monday, March 23, 2020 at 11 AM for family and close friends at Glen Haven Cemetery, 10300 New Biddinger Road.
A Celebration of Stretch's life will be later this summer where friends and family will gather and have a beer and share stories and laughs together.
Memorials can be made to the Sons of the American Legion. If you stop by the funeral home leave your donation with a funeral home employee. If you are unable to stop mail your donation to the funeral home payable to the Sons of the American Legion.
Due to the COVID-19, if you are not feeling well, or those who have a compromised immune systems which in anyway increase the chance of complications from COVID19 are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to stay home.
