Zachary Rolfes

Zachary James Rolfes “Zach”, passed away suddenly on August 27, 2021 at the age of 36 and leaves a hole in the hearts of those who loved him.  He was an extraordinary and talented man.  If you were blessed to have received a piece of his woodwork you know the care and detail, he put into everything he did.  He made custom tables and chairs and when finishing them he burned the wood to add his own special touch and look.  No two pieces were alike just like no two people are alike and there was no one like Zach.  He helped his parents James and Sharon with their business, Rolfes Excavating, as a Heavy Equipment Operator.  He made the decision he wanted to follow a passion that he had of being a woodworker.  He found his calling and made some wonderful things.  Zach was also a great dad to Skylar and Jade.  Skylar enjoyed the special surprises he gave her of concert tickets, a quad, but will miss most are the quiet times she spent with him just talking about her day.  Jade was a daddy’s girl and spent every minute with him learning how to burn wood in the woodworking shop and enjoyed fishing with him. Zach will be missed but he will never be forgotten. 

He will live on in the hearts of his family: cherished daughters: Skylar & Jade Rolfes; devoted parents: James W. Jr. and Sharon (nee Utterback) Rolfes; dear sisters and their husbands: Rachel (Doug) Hinton, Hailey (Adam) Reagan; beloved grandpas: James Rolfes Sr. and Earl Utterback; nieces and nephew: Jaxon & Lylah Hinton, Rose & Iris Reagan; supportive aunts and uncles: Steve (Celia) Rolfes, Kelly (Mara) Rolfes, Karen (David) Smith, Earl (Jean) Utterback, Jeffrey Utterback and Mary Greenham.  He will also be missed by his many cousins and friends. 

Zach was preceded in death by his grandma Rose Rolfes and grandma Mary Utterback.

Visitation will be at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine Street, Harrison, OH 45030, on Friday, September 3, 2021, from 5 pm to 8 pm and also on Saturday, September 4, 2021, from 10 am until 11 am.  A blessing services with Fr. Jeffrey Kemper will start at 11 AM.  Burial will follow at Miamitown Cemetery.
