William "Bill" E Frey

William E. "Bill" Frey, of Crosby Township, passed away at Shawneespring Health & Rehab Center on May 8, 2022, at the age of 89.  He was born on November 28, 1932, in Harrison, Ohio to Elmer and Alma (nee Cassady) Frey. Bill was a 1950 graduate of William Henry Harrison High School.  After high school, he joined the military and served in the US Army. After fulfilling his military duty he went to work for Fernald.  Bill later took a job at GM and retired after working 25 years.  He married Wilma Hann and they were blessed with 4 children: Sandy, Carla, Roger & Bev.  Bill was always working.  He was the owner of Frey Upholstery and after getting home from working he would eat and head to his basement to work on projects.  When he wasn't working, he was enjoying the outdoors.  He always had a big garden and was a skilled trapper that he still did up until a few years ago.  

Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife Wilma J. (nee Hann) Frey; son: Roger Frey; grandson: Andy Grimes; parents: Elmer and Alma (nee Cassady) Frey and brothers: Jim & Dick Frey.
 
Bill's memory will live on with his daughters: Sandy (Bill) Richards, Carla Frey, Bev (Donny) Hettersimer;   Loving grandchildren: Michelle (Daniel) Cosmah, Melissa (Matt) Pies, Heather (Eddie) Grimes, Danny (Lauren) Wiesmann, Cody (Krystal) Hettersimer, & Jimmy (Jessica) Hettersimer; Cherished great grandchildren:  Brooklyn Wiesmann, Penelope Cosmah, Will, Luke, & Hunter Pies, Henry Hettersimer, Joel & Jaycie Hettersimer, Alyssa, & Joey Grimes. 

Visitation will be held at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St., Harrison, Ohio on Thursday, May 12, 2022, from 10 am until the time of the funeral at 11 am.  Burial to follow with Military Honors provided by the Harrison Honor Guard & the US ARMY at Springdale Cemetery in Reily, Ohio. 

In lieu of flowers memorials to the Harrison VFW or Crosby Township Seniors. Donations can be made directly to the organizaition.
