William R Smith

William “Bill” R. Smith, of Whitewater Township, passed away on Feb. 18, 2021 at the age of 71.  He was born on May 27, 1949 in Cincinnati to the late Danny and Leona (nee Kelly) Smith.  He joined the US Army and served from 1969 – 1971.  He was a heck of a mechanic and could fix anything.  He started working at the family service station in Cleves and worked at Bill Bill’s Towing Service.  Bill was always looking out and helping others.  He also was an avid reader and always had a book in his truck and on his side table at home. 

Bill was the loving father of Randy Smith, the late James “Ace” Smith and their sister: Christina Stamper-Carr (& her son Owen Carr); devoted grandfather of Wyatt & Kristiauna Smith; dear brother of: the late Wayne (the late Anna Rae) Smith, Phyllis (the late Roy) Davis, the late Myrna Lee (the late Robert) Dill, Charlotte (Rodney) Adams, Carolyn (Ray) McClure, the late Walter (the late Helen) Smith, Marilyn “Sue” (the late Ronnie) Whitaker, Warren “Kenneth” (Teresa) Smith, the late Wallace (Jeff Dobblehoff) Smith, Sherrie (Allen “Pete”) Britton, and Winston “Lee” (Linda) Smith.  He is also survived by numerous niece and nephews. 

Visitation will be on Friday, February 26, 2021 from 12pm until the time of the funeral service at 1 pm at Legacy Christian Church, 207 North Vine Street, Harrison, OH 45030.  Burial with Military honors will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.  Services are open to the public but social distance and masks will be required.

Memorials may be made to Legacy Christian Church.  You may bring your donation to the funeral and give to a funeral home representative.  If you are unable to attend then mail your donation to Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine Street, Harrison, OH 45030.  They will notify the family of your donation and forward it to the charity.
