Wanda (McQueen) Combs

The world lost a wonderful lady with a big heart and uplifting smile.  Wanda (McQueen) Combs, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2021.  She was born to Robert and Laura (Hensley) McQueen in Drewersburg, Indiana on August 28, 1937.  She graduated William Henry Harrison High School in 1955.  Wanda worked as a secretary for a advertising company until she became a mom.  She was a loving mother to Keith, Cindy, Kevin, Pamela and Deanna.  The last few years Wanda's health has been difficult for her emotionally and physically. Her beloved doxin "Hershey" always showed her love and gave her comfort.  Wanda believed in God and attended Fairfield Church of God. Recently she watched church regularly on TV. Wanda had a wonderful laugh and always had a smile on her face even when she wasn't feeling good.  Her typical response if you asked her how she was doing was "Fat and Sassy."  

Wanda will be missed but the wonderful Saturday morning outings at McDonalds or her endless supply of mint's in her pockets will be remembered by her children:   Cindy (Frank) Lambert, Kevin (Debbie) Combs, Pamela (Andy) Callan, and Deanna (Tony) Portilles; 10 cherished grandchildren and 3 wonderful great grandchildren.  Wanda is also survived by her siblings: Barbara Lanham and Eugene McQueen.

Wanda was preceded in death by her son: Keith Comb; parents: Robert and Laura (nee Hensley) McQueen; and her siblings: Ruby, Ruth, Earl, Virgil, Helen and Bernice.

Visitation will be held on Monday April 12, 2021 from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 pm at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine Street, Harrison, OH 45030.  Pastor Bob Maggard will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville, IN.  

Memorials may be made to American Heart Association.  You may bring memorial to the funeral home and give to a funeral home representative or mail to the funeral home and they will notify the family of your donation. 

The family wants to thank Lisa Herald, Wanda's niece and caretaker, along with Trish Robinson, Hospice nurse, for the wonderful care they gave to Wanda over the past year.
