Verna F (Marcum) Henry

Verna F (Marcum) Henry, age 89 of Sayler Park, passed away at her home with her children by her side on Saturday, October 14, 2023. She was born on July 8, 1934, to Vernon and Cora (Troescher) Marcum in Cincinnati, Ohio.  On June 1, 1951, Verna married Guerin Henry, and together they were blessed with four children: Veronica, Barbara, Gary, and Carol. Her and Guerin attended Delhi Church of Christ for many years. Verna loved to spend hours on her front porch watching the birds, the squirrels, and enjoying neighbors. After Guerin passed, she covered it with a roof and rails and made it into her own unique room, better known as “Mamaw’s porch”. She also enjoyed going to the Bayley Senior Center, but most of all she loved her spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband: Guerin Henry; parents: Vernon and Cora Marcum; siblings: Janet Atkins and Howard Marcum.

Those left to cherish her memory include her four dear children: Veronica (the late Allan) Benzing, Barbara (Roger) Sullins, Gary Henry, and Carol (Tommy) Cashion; nine beloved grandchildren: Tom (Christy), Jenn (Corey), Sara (Ron), Sandy, Sherry (Nate), Stacy (Dustin), Aaron, Michelle, and Nikki (Jason); twenty-two great grandchildren.  Also, her brother: Vernon “Bud” Marcum, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be held at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 138 Monitor Ave, Sayler Park, Ohio on Friday, October 20, 2023, from 10:30 am until the time of service at 12:30 pm. Burial to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to The Delhi Church of Christ or Hospice of Cincinnati. A funeral home representative will be available to help you with your donation at the services, or you may make your check payable to one of the listed charities and mail it to Brater Winter Funeral Home, 138 Monitor Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45233. The funeral home will make the family aware of your donation.
