Thelma Jean (nee White) Stutz of Logan, Indiana, passed away on July 4, 2023 at the age of 101. She was born on June 1, 1922 in Logan, Indiana to Edna (nee Hines) and Lester White. She married Vernon Albert Stutz and was blessed with three children: Dennis, Barba and Donald. Thelma dearly loved her family and friends. She was a secretary at North Dearbon High School and then moved to East Central High School when it opened. She retired in 1985. Thelma was very active in school activities and also at Dearborn Hills United Methodist Church, where she was a member and on many committees. She also worked at the North Dearborn Pantry and helped run the Senior's Luncheons for around 20 years. Thelma was selected as one of the Women of the year in Cincinnati in 1971.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband Vernon Albert Stutz; son Kenneth; parents: Lester and Edna White; sister: Elsie Doneworth and brother: Ernest White.
Thelma leaves a wonderful legacy to carry on with her 3 children: Dennis (Becky) Stutz, Barbara (dear friend Mary Alice Hodapp) Stutz, Donald (Debby) Stutz; cherished grandchildren: Shawn (Buffy) Stutz, Denise (Zak) Kirchgassner, Diane (Greg) Vollner, Daniel (Bethany) Stutz, David (Lisa) Stutz; 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Dearborn Hills U.M.C, on Friday, July 7, 2023 from 11 am until the time of the funeral at 1 pm. Burial to follow at Gibson Cemetery.
Memorials are requested to Dearborn Hills U.M.C. Funeral Home will be available to accept memorials during the visitation and funeral.
The family would also like to give a very special thanks to Amanda and Lily Edmonds for the great care that they pfrovided for Thelma before and during the end of her life.
