Sylvia A. (Vortkamp) Schoenung

Sylvia Ann (nee Vortkamp) Schoenung, of Whitewater Township, passed away on October 30, 2020 at the age of 77.  She was born on August 3, 1943 in Cincinnati to Harry and Marcella (nee Hare) Vortkamp.  She married John Schoenung and they were blessed with three children: Ronald, Glen, and Dorothy.  She enjoyed being with her family.

Sylvia was the loving wife of the late John V. Schoenung; devoted mother of Ronald (Lori) and Glen Schoenung, and Dorothy (Christopher) Neske; cherished grandmother of Hannah (John) Berberich, Alyson (Josh) Makin, Emily Schoenung and Asher Neske; great grandma of Noah Makin; sister of the late Edward Vortkamp; sister-in-law of Leo & James (Rian Miller) Schoenung and the late Thomas (Patricia) Schoenung.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 from 10:30 to 11:30 AM at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine Street, Harrison, OH 45030.  Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 12 PM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 10010 Carolina Trace Rd, Harrison, OH 45030.  Burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Everyone in attendance will be required to wear a mask and observe social distancing practices.  Services will be live streamed on Brater Winter’s Facebook page. 

Memorials to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church or The American Society of Breast Surgeons Foundation. This can be done by mailing your donation made payable to either charity or dropping your donation off at the funeral home.
