Shirley (Clippinger) Smith

Shirley (nee Clippinger) Lausch Smith, Harrison, passed away on December 30, 2020 at the age of 91. She was born March 2, 1929 in Harrison, Ohio to Harry Adam Clippinger and Margaret Elizabeth Keely Clippinger.  She graduated William Henry Harrison High School and then attended Miami University where she received a Bachelors in Education.  While at Miami she met Roger Lausch on a blind date and the rest was history.  They were married and had three children: Jeff, Cheryl and Eric.  Shirley was a music teacher for Southwest School District for many years.  She enjoyed playing the piano and could easily play any music given to her.  She enjoyed traveling with Roger all over the world.  Roger passed away and she then married Dale Smith.  Dale and Shirley enjoyed traveling and taking dinner rides on Steam boats with friends.  Shirley was a lifelong supporter of Miami University.  She was also a member of the DAR. 

Shirley was preceded in death by her husbands: Roger Lausch and Dale Smith; son: Jeff Lausch; parents: Harry and Margaret Clippinger; and son-in-law: Steve Smith.

Those left to carry on her legacy are her children: Cheryl Smith and Eric Lausch; cherished grandchildren: Faith Bowman and Kyre (Hannah) Smith; and great grandchildren: Keleigh (Cole) Walbrecht, Adrien Frank, and Kali & Lennon Smith. She was also a great great grandma of Levi.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2021 from 12 pm until the funeral service at 2 pm at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine Street, Harrison, OH 45030.  Bud Jones conducting the services.  Burial will follow at Glen Haven Cemetery. 

Memorials may be made to Harrison Historical Society or the DAR.  You can mail donation to the funeral home.
