Sally S. Bowron (nee Schlegel) of Harrison, Ohio passed away September 9, 2021, at the age of 74. She was born on April 5, 1947, to Robert and Elizabeth (nee Lambert) Schlegel. On May 2, 1970, Sally married Gary Bowron, and together they were blessed with 3 children: Heather, Christopher, and Ryan. Every step of Sally’s career and life was focused on service to others. Sally worked as a radiation therapist and x-ray technician for oncology departments in multiple Cincinnati hospitals. She went on to teach religion classes at various Catholic high schools in the area. Lastly, she served as Chaplain to different hospitals in the area. In her younger years, Sally was very involved in her children’s activities and bowling. Later in life, after moving to Florida, she began to play golf, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Sally was always expressing her creative side through painting, crafts, and scrapbooking. The most important thing to her was always family. She adored her children, grandchildren, and her little dog Gracie, who went on ahead of her.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband: Gary Bowron; children: Heather (Michael) Griffin, Christopher (Katina) Bowron, and Ryan Bowron; grandchildren, who lovingly called her “Mimi”: Justin Griffin, Victoria Bauscher, Nicholas Griffin, Molly Griffin, Brenden Griffin, Saoirse, Keva and Teagan Bowron; siblings: Robert “Rob” (Marsha) Schlegel, Jack (Cindy) Schlegel, Gary (Amy) Schlegel, MaryBeth (the late Jerry) Shelton, Terry (Jay) Donovan; sister-in-law: Jeanne (Jim) Darner; brother-in-law: Robert (Sherri) Bowron.
Visitation will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 10010 Carolina Trace Rd., Harrison, Ohio, on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, beginning at 9:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Celebration of Life service will follow at Riverview Crossings clubhouse, 4900 River Crest Rd., Harrison, Ohio. Out of consideration for Sally’s family and those who are not able to be vaccinated, please wear a mask and follow current COVID safety guidelines.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Cincinnati through the funeral home. A funeral home representative will be able to assist you with your donation at the visitation.
