Ronald H Zumwalde

Ronald "Ron" H. Zumwalde, 81, of Harrison, Ohio, died peacefully at home on Monday, October 2, 2023.

He was born in Cincinnati on December 9, 1941, to Norbert G. Zumwalde and Genevieve (Culman) Zumwalde. He graduated from Western Hills High School in 1961. He met the love of his life Betty L. Rose in 1972, and they were married November 19, 1973.  They were blessed with 4 children: Shawn, Ronny, Randy, and Shelly.  

Ron was preceded in death by his parents: Norbert & Genevieve (Culman) Zumwalde and his brother: Jerry "Zeke" Zumwalde 

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 50 years: Betty L. Rose-Zumwalde; sons: Ronny Lane Zumwalde, and Randy Lee Zumwalde; daughters: Shelly Louise Zumwalde, and Shawn LuAnne (Scott) Zumwalde-DeGolyer; beloved grandchildren: Zach (Maggie) Zumwalde, Evan (Clohe) Zumwalde, Ryan (Cliff) Thompson, Jesi (Chelsea) Neaves, Rollan "David" (Joy) Mead, Logan DeGolyer, Lexis "Stormie" DeGolyer, Adalynn "Addie" Thompson, & Israelle "Izzy" Mead; siblings: Larry (Cathie) Zumwalde, Sharon Zumwalde, Tom (Terry) Zumwalde, Dennis (Cheryl) Zumwalde; adopted sister: Andrea Ziser; brother-in-law Ed Rose; sister-in-law: Judy Zumwalde; daughter-in-law: Lisa Zumwalde.

Ron retired from the City of Cincinnati Municipal Garage as a mechanic. He was a member of the Whitewater Crossing Church in Cleves, Ohio. Ron's church friends became his church family. Ron also was vice president of the Northern Kentucky Kennel Club. Ron was known by many for his delicious culinary skills. Especially for his Goetta, German Potato Salad and Cheesecakes.

Visitation will be held at Whitewater Crossing Church, 5771 Hamilton Cleves Rd, Cleves, OH 45002 on Friday, October 6, 2023, from 4 pm until the time of service at 6 PM.  Burial will be private at New Haven Cemetery, Crosby Township.

The family request memorials in memory of Ron to be given to Whitewater Crossing.  A funeral home representative will be available to accept memorials during the visitation and service.  If you are unable to attend mail donations, made payable to the church, to Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine Street, Harrison, OH 45030.  The funeral home will notify the family of donations and forward to church.
