Robert William Tiemann, also known as Bob, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2023, at the age of 76 in Bright, Indiana, with his family by his side. He was born on October 27, 1946, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Elsie and Elmer Tiemann.
Bob was a man of integrity, known for his honesty and directness. He served in the United States Navy for three years, 1964 – 1967, and then the Reserves until 1970, proudly contributing to the defense of our country. After his military service, he obtained a bachelor’s degree from The University of Cincinnati and then spent the majority of his successful career as the Association Director for various union employing contractors in Cincinnati, OH, including the Mechanical Contractors, Sheet Metal workers, Plumbers, and Pipefitters. He was instrumental in overseeing several apprenticeship programs.
Outside of work, Bob enjoyed boating and golfing, finding solace and joy in these hobbies. He resided in Fort Myers Beach, FL, and loved everything about the Gulf Coast lifestyle. Bob is survived by his son: Michael (Angela) Tiemann; grandchildren: Jared and Julia Tiemann; Daughter: Sharie (Timothy) Richter; grandchildren: Madalyn, Derek and Joel Richter; Stepson: Matthew (Jennifer) Galbreath; step grandchildren: Ethan and Tyler Galbreath; Stepdaughter: Kristin (Ibrahim) AbuDakar; step grandchildren: Sarah, Sophia, Faris and Khalil AbuDakar.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Donna Tiemann. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Elsie and Elmer Tiemann.
A Gathering of friends and family will be held at Bright Christian Church, located at 24457 State Line Rd, Lawrenceburg, IN 47025, on October 22, 2023, from 5:30 pm until the memorial service beginning at 6:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to "Dads - Post 246", c/o Dick Robeson, 15297 Briarcrest Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33912, in honor of Bob's dedication to his country and community, and in the best interest of the American Veteran.
