Lillie was the one that you turned to as your prayer warrior to help you when you needed help. On June 19, 2023, at the age of 83, Lillie Snyder, of Harrison, passed away with her family praying for her. Lillie was born in Bright, Indiana on May 30, 1940, to Millard and Helen (nee Hibbard) Hollin. She was one of 8 children. Lillie grew up in Bright and was a Bright High School 1958 graduate. She married Tom Snyder on 2/18/1961. Lillie worked as a cook at Southwest Local and later at Higher Ground Conference & Retreat Center. She also loved to bake and would create wedding cakes for many couples. Lillie loved children. They fostered Benjamin, Rick, and Robbie. Then 18 years later she gave birth to Helen, and they were so happy to have this big family. Tom and Lillie taught Sunday school for many years and were members of Liberty Temple in Logan. Lillie had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed laughing with family and friends. If you ever came to her home, you never left hungry because she always made sure you had food in front of you. She also taught her children how to play Canasta and how to care for others.
Lillie is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Tom Snyder; beloved children and their spouses: Benjamin (Merrie) McElfresh, Rick (Brenda) McElfresh, Robbie Moses and Helen (Robert) Barnes; cherished grandchildren: April McElfresh, Patrick McElfresh, Tony McElfresh, Avery Barnes and Zachary Barnes; dear sister: Martha Metzler and brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law: Howard Hiler, David (Pat) Snyder, Nancy (Harmon) Dennis, and Adena (Jake) Baker. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Ethel Jones, Green Hollin, Raymond Hollin, Charlie Hollin, Sallie Hiler & George Hollin.
Visitation will be on Saturday, June 24, 2023, from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at 12 pm with Brad Whiteford officiating. Burial will immediately follow.
As Lillie’s love was to provide food for others the family ask that memorials may be made to Christ Loving Hands. A funeral home representative will be available during the visitation and services to accept memorials
