LeRoy Lunsford

LeRoy Lunsford, age 69, of Aurora, left this earthly life on Feb. 26, 2021 to enter eternal life with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 

He was born on Aug. 20, 1951 to Isaac and Nancy (Mathis) Lunsford in Franklin County, Indiana. LeRoy as a young kid was a hard worker and always was thinking of how to make his jobs easier. Along the way inventing things to help him. He made up a weed eater before weed eaters were invented to cut the high grass so he didn’t have to use sheers. LeRoy would build things in his mind and then build them physically and always put his whole hart into everything he did.  He expected the same from others too. LeRoy ran and operated a contracting business, where he did everything from building houses to small handyman jobs.  LeRoy also had a sense of humor, telling jokes to make those around him laugh.  He was quite the entertainer which leads to his love of music.  He played the guitar as a kid and his love of music lead him to join a group of friends that played together called the Wayfaring Strangers. He had many talents and could accomplish anything he put his mind too. Which leads us to his loves in life… He loved to be there for others, fishing, hunting, gardening, woodworking and living life with passion. 

He will be missed by many especially his children: Teresa (Mark Sturgill) Lunsford and Travis (Ronda) Lunsford; grandchildren: Travis Jr., Tristen, & Leah Lunsford; beloved siblings: Cisco (Carol), Billy (Martha), Luther, Venoy (Penny Mitchell) Lunsford; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents: Isaac and Nancy (nee Mathis) Lunsford; siblings: Novella Lunsford, Bonnie Reinhart, Donnie and Rosco Lunsford.

A public visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 from 4 pm to 6 pm at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine Street, Harrison, OH 45030. Covid Guidelines will be followed. 

Private services will follow with a family visitation from 6 pm until the time of the service at 7 pm. Services will be livestreamed for extended family and friends, see the link below on the services for the link.
