Kathleen “Kathie” Mary (nee McElroy) Bain, passed away on October 10, 2020 at the age of 73. Kathie was born in Cincinnati on June 14, 1947 to Robert and Audrey (nee Bagot) McElroy. She married Carl F. Bain on February 15, 1969 and they were blessed with 5 children: Karen, Thomas, James, Russell and Suzanne. Kathie loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed supporting each of them. She was the loudest fan at her grandchildren’s events. She was always volunteering in any way possible. After 9-11 she left right after her daughter’s wedding and went to New York for 7 days and served coffee to workers at ground zero. Kathie was born on Flag Day, was a proud supporter of veterans and was active in the VFW auxiliary. She also enjoyed golfing with her friends and traveling all over the world with her husband. The most memorable trait of Kathie was her never ending smile and laugh and it will be missed by many.
Those that are left to carry on her legacy are her loving husband Carl; children and their spouses: Karen (Chris) Marx, Thomas (Aly) Bain, Jimi (Bridgette) Bain, Russell (Kristin) Bain and Suzanne (Justin) Wesling; cherished grandchildren: Kyle, Hannah& Eric Marx, Carter, Natalie & Landon Bain, Kelsey & Austin Bain, Emily, Alex & Megan Wesling; beloved siblings: Pattie (Jerry) Hudepohl, Don (Jean) McElroy, Bob (Joyce) McElroy, Bill (Jana) McElroy, Mike (Francesca) McElroy, Mimi Wright, Terry (Kathy) McElroy. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and in-laws: Anna Lee Quail, Forest (Bonnie) Bain, Charlie (Jorgianna) Bain.
Kathie was preceded in death by her parents: Robert and Audrey (Bagot) McElroy; in-laws: Forest & Rachel (nee Combs) Bain; in-laws: Fred, David (Linda) & Billy Bain & Keith Quail.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2020 from 5 pm to 8 pm at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine Street, Harrison, OH 45030. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 16, 2020 at 10 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 10010 Carolina Trace Rd., Harrison, OH 45030. Services live on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/braterwinterfh. A private burial will be held at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North.
Memorials may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Awareness. This can be done through their website pancan.org or you may bring your donation to the visitation or funeral and give to a funeral home representative. They will notify the family and mail donations in together in memory of Kathie.
