Joyce C. (Ray) Stenger

Joyce C. (nee Ray) Stenger, of Whitewater Township, passed away on July 17, 2020 at the age of 85.  Joyce was born on March 9, 1935 in Toledo, Ohio to Lawrence C. and Alfreda E. (nee Ernst) Ray.  She was a graduate of Mercy High School.  Joyce met Richard Stenger and after 5 years of dating they married on June 16, 1956.  They were blessed with 6 children: Diane, Daniel, Brian, Mark, Vincent and Deborah.  Joyce enjoyed watching Jeopardy, working on puzzles, sewing and canning.  Most important to her was being a mom and raising her children. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 64 years, Richard Stenger; her loving children: Diane Dunivant, Daniel (Renae) Stenger, Brian (Christina) Stenger, Mark Stenger, Vincent (Katee) Stenger, Deborah McCrary; cherished grandchildren: Christina (Michael), Lauren (Jake), Gina, Kevin, Valerie, Simon, Fennton and Danielle; and dear great grandchildren: Jade and Jett.  Also survived by her Sisters-in-law: Margie (Franz) Wilke, Susan (Dick) Mack; brother-in-law: David (Susan) Stenger; and Cousin Clarence Nies.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence C. and Alfreda E. (Ernst) Ray; brothers-in-law: Tom and Jim Stenger; Sisters-in-law: Rita Bailey and Cathy Humbert.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 22, 2020 from 10 am to 12 pm at Brater Winter Funeral Home.  We are asking from 10-11 am be time for those with compromised immune systems.  Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 12:30 pm St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.  Burial will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.  Fr. Jeffery Kemper will be officiating. 

Memorials may be made to St. Vincent DePaul or St. John the Baptist Building Fund. The funeral home will be collecting the donations during the visitation and the service. If your unable to attend then you can mail your donation to Brater Winter Funeral Home. 201 S. Vine St. Harrison, OH 45030.  They will notify the family of your donation.
