Joseph Edward Hendel

Joseph "Joe" Edward Hendel, of Harrison, passed away on January 24, 2021.  Joe was born on January 15, 1979  in Hamilton, Ohio to Ronald and Linda (nee Ellis) Hendel.  He grew up in Batesville where he was a 1997 Batesville High School graduate. Joe worked as a bartender in Batesville at the Eagles Club, Benny's and the Big 4 before taking a job at Hollywood Casino.  He just received his 10 year award for working at Hollywood Casino. He had a big heart and he was always nice to everyone around him. 

He was preceded in death by his mom Linda Ellis Mays; grandparents: Alice & Darrell Ellis & Edna & Edwin Hendel; Aunts: Betty Schwab & Diane Bowles; and bonus brother: Josuah Mays.

Those left to cherish his legacy are his father: Ronald E. Hendel; siblings: Rhonda (Dave) Sanderson, Sarah (Patrick) Davis and James Mays; sister-in-law: Heather Mays; Nieces & Nephews: Brady (Abby), David, Caleb, Dylan, Ethan, Eliana, Uriah and Noah; and bonus mom: Debbie Hendel; wonderful Aunts & Uncles: Paul (June), Michael Hendel and Kathi (Jon) Truster.  He is also survived by step father: Robert Mays and many cousins and friends.

Due to Covid a Graveside service will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 1 PM at Bevis Cemetery, 3766 Dry Ridge Road, Cincinnati, OH 45252. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date at Borderline Bar where he enjoyed hanging out.
