Jerome "Jerry" Forrester

Jerome “Jerry” Forrester of Okeana, Ohio passed away August 8, 2021, at the age of 80. Jerry was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on October 21, 1940, to Charles and Frances (nee Eha) Forrester. He graduated from Roger Bacon High School in 1959, and then joined the US Army. On June 17, 1967, he married Ruth Doan and together they were blessed with three children, Patrick, Jeffrey, and Kristen.  Jerry was a proud member of the American Legion Honor Guard. He belonged to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and was active in the St. Vincent DePaul ministry.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife: Ruth Forrester; children: Patrick Forrester and Kristen Cline; grandchildren: Bre-ona and Josh; siblings: Lois (Tom) Gilligan and Terry Forrester; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law:  Joyce Coffman (the late Ronald), Patricia Fitterer (the late Dan), and Greg Doan.

Jerry was preceded in death by his son: Jeffrey Scott Forrester; and his parents: Charles and Frances Forrester; brother-in-laws: Ronald Coffman and Dan Fitterer.

Visitation with Military Honors, provided by the Harrison Honor Guard and the US Army, will be held Wednesday, August 18, 2021 from 9:30 AM until Mass of Christian Burial begins at 10:30 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 10010 Carolina Trace Rd., Harrison, Ohio. Burial to follow at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Harrison Honor Guard or St. Vincent DePaul/St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. You may bring your donation at the time of visitation and a funeral home representative will be able to assist you.
