Grace Edwina (Maury) Sizemore

Grace wasn’t perfect, but she always lived by the Golden Rule. She didn’t lie, so when she said she was going to heaven on the same day as her husband James, it was not surprise that she passed on that same day, only one year later. Grace was surrounded by her loving family as she passed from this life to the next, on Monday, August 22, 2022.

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio on September 18, 1947, to Emery and Rhoda (nee Stephens) Maury. Grace Maury married James J. Sizemore on September 25, 1964, and the were blessed with four children: James T., Kimberly, Tricia, and Sherri. Grace loved children. Over the years, she volunteered at the Sayler Park School library, later becoming a lunch lady. She also loved babysitting her many grandchildren. She taught bible school at Salem United Church of Christ, and always taught her children and grandchildren patience, the Golden Rule, and to keep the faith no matter what life brought their way. Grace’s family will remember her for her fun sense of humor, her great pumpkin rolls, and not so great fudge. She also loved Elvis, bingo, and going to the casinos.

Grace was preceded in death by her loving husband: James Jesse Sizemore; son-in-law: Christopher Gauslin; parents: Emery and Rhoda Maury; siblings: Rhoda (Wayne) Hensley, Nancy Maury, and infant twin brothers: Clinton and George Maury.

Those left with many wonderful memories are her devoted children: James T. (Ivy) Sizemore, Kimberly (Dale) Cornes, Tricia Gauslin, and Sherri (Barry) Reed; adored grandchildren: Valerie Sizemore, James A. (Chevelle) Sizemore, Amanda Perry, Alicia (Phillip) Wilson, Troy Cornes, Jared Gauslin, Matthew Reed, Steven Reed, Clinton Gauslin; treasured great grandchildren: Audrina “Dri”, Tony, Cora, and Larissa; siblings: Emery Maury, Cathy (Jackie) Lewis, Tommy (Darlene) Maury, Susan (Ronnie) Madden, and Carolyn (Danny) Luken.

Visitation will be held at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 138 Monitor Ave, Sayler Park, Ohio on Monday, August 29, 2022, from 10:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm. Burial to follow at Spring Grove Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, American Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice. A funeral home representative will be able to assist with your donation at the services.
