Gerald “Jerry” Martini

Gerald "Jerry" Martini, passed away on February 11, 2022 at the age of 82.  He was born on  September 21, 1939 to Herbert and Alma (nee Anderson) Martini and grew up in Sayler Park.  He attended Western Hills High School and Elder, and always loved the Elder legacy.  Jerry married Anna Perkins on December 2, 1961 in Cincinnati at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church.  They were blessed with three children: Betty, Angela and Gerald Jr. "Tony".  Jerry worked for the Cincinnati school system as a engineer.  He also owned a Tax preparing business and helped a lot of people in the area with their taxes.  Jerry was a foodie and enjoyed cooking and baking. He enjoyed watching Elder Football, Notre Dame Football, Bengals "Who Dey", and the Indy 500. Jerry was a big man however, he had the biggest heart, a kind and generous personality and was fair and loyal. 

Jerry will be greatly missed by his family especially his wife of 60 years: Anna Martini; beloved children: Betty (Thom) DeHoop, Angela (John) Gerbus, Gerald Jr. "Tony" (Tina Boyd) Martini; cherished grandchildren: James "Jimmy" (Samantha) Griffin, Joseph "Joey" Griffin, Jonathan DeHoop, Justin Gerbus, Jenna Gerbus, Jacob Gerbus, Max Martini, Morgan (Edward Atkins) Martini; great grandchildren: James Griffin & another on the boy on the way. Also survived by his siblings: Herb Jr. (Joyce) Martini, Julie Glasgow, Ruth Ann (Nathan Bagley) Martini, Daniel Martini, Paula Robinson, Victoria (Randy) Cohen, Veronica Crimm, Lawrence Martini and numerous loving nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and cousins. 

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents: Herbert & Alma Martini; and siblings: Mary Ellen Pack, Clement Martini, & Patrick "Clem" Martini.

Visitation will be held at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 138 Monitor Ave. Sayler Park, on Thursday, February 17, 2022 from 4 pm to 8 pm.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Aloysius on the Ohio on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 11 AM.  

Memorials are requested to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Hospice of Cincinnati.  A funeral home representative will be present during the visitation and service to accept donations on behalf of the family.
