Ereca J (Acre) Dennis

Ereca J. (Acre) Dennis, of Harrison, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023, at the age of 88. She was born in Cross Plains, Indiana to Russell Acre and Clara (Steingrueber) Wells on June 1, 1934. Ereca was an active and involved member of the First Baptist Church in Harrison for over fifty years. She was committed to helping others in any way she could. Ereca was an avid gardener of both flowers and vegetables. She enjoyed canning the fresh produce from her own garden so her family could enjoy it all winter long. Above all, Ereca loved her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Ereca was preceded in death by her husband: Kenneth E. Dennis; son: Kenneth “Danny” Dennis; three grandchildren; parents: Russell Acre and Clara (Steingrueber) Wells, and siblings: Charles and David Acre.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Steven L. Dennis, Rick D. (Belinda) Dennis, Tina M. (Mike) Mayfield, Robin R. Dennis, Douglas W. Dennis, and Gina (Steven) Hauser; fourteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and siblings: Jim (Joan) Wells, Richard (Shirley) Wells, and Rita (Chris) Nienaber.

Visitation will be held at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St., Harrison, Ohio on Friday, March 24, 2023, from 10:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm. Burial to follow at Glen Haven Cemetery, Harrison, Ohio.

Memorials are requested in Ereca’s memory to Hospice of Southwest Ohio. A funeral home representative will be available to accept donations during the visitation and funeral service.  If you are unable to attend, please mail your donation, made payable to “Hospice of Southwest Ohio”, to the funeral home.
