Elizabeth B Fanelli, a beloved life long and proud member of the Harrison community, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2023, at the age of 74. She was born on May 4, 1949, in Indiana to her loving parents Dr. Paul and Margaret (Richey) Bauman. She graduated William Henry Harrison High School class of 1967.
Elizabeth was a remarkable woman who excelled in various aspects of her life. She dedicated herself to the field of nursing, obtaining a Bachelor's Degree and working tirelessly in a local hospital, mostly in the Operating Rooms. Her commitment to caring for others was unmatched, and she touched countless lives throughout her career. She was a leader in her field and was given the opportunity to work for Laser Centers of America where she would train doctors how to use the lasers in new procedures.
When not tending to the needs of her patients, Elizabeth found joy in pursuing her hobbies and interests. She had a green thumb and derived immense pleasure from gardening. She passed her knowledge onto her daughters when they needed help. Additionally, she had a deep love for dogs, particularly Cavalier King Charles dogs. Elizabeth's remarkable spirit extended to her beloved pets, and she actively participated in agility courses, training them with enthusiasm – even from her wheelchair. She was an esteemed member of the Queen City Dog Training Club and found immense satisfaction in the bonds she formed with her four-legged companions.
Elizabeth had a vibrant and artistic soul. She had a profound love for musicals, particularly Broadway shows, and would immerse herself in the captivating performances whenever given the chance. She cherished the opportunity to travel to Michigan for vacations, where she could relax and enjoy the beauty of nature.
Her diagnosis with Multiple Sclerosis in 1989 never deterred her spirit. Elizabeth faced the challenges head-on and lived life to the fullest. She was an inspiration to all who knew her, as she embraced each day with resilience and determination despite her health struggles.
Family meant the world to Elizabeth. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Angela Fanelli, Erin (John) Helton, Katie (Omar) Jimenez. She not only provided them with love and support, but she also passed on her skills and taught them to be independent, loving and strong mothers. In addition to her daughters, Elizabeth leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Sophia Fanelli, Zachary Helton, Emma Fanelli, Trishey Doyle, Camilla, Soloman, and Adaline Jimenez; beloved Siblings: Molly (Gene) Ziegler and Hank (Chela) Bauman; numerous nieces and nephews. Her legacy of kindness, strength, and compassion will continue to inspire and uplift those whose lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother John Bauman.
A gathering of friends to celebrate Elizabeth's life will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Brater Winter Funeral Home from 2 pm until the time of the Service at 3 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to National MS Society in Elizabeth's memory. These donations will support research and advocacy for multiple sclerosis, a cause that she held close to her heart.
Elizabeth B Fanelli will forever remain in the hearts and memories of those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace, knowing that her light continues to shine brightly in the lives she touched.
