Edgar Lohman

Edgar Anthony Lohman, of Harrison, passed away on December 30, 2021 with his family by his side at the age of 91. 

He was born in Morris, Indiana to Albert and Hilda (nee Riehle) Lohman.  Edgar graduated from Batesville High School. He met his future wife Rosalyn M. Werner at a wedding where they both crashed the reception with friends.  He cut in while she was dancing with someone else and they we married on Sept. 28, 1957 at. St. Joseph Church in St. Leon and they have been dancing ever since.  Edgar and Rosalyn were blessed with three boys: James, Doug, and Michael.  He was a devote Catholic all his life and he was active in making the world a better place.  Edgar was a Past Grand Knight and Pro-Life Coordinator for the Harrison Knights of Columbus.  He was also active in Cincinnati Right to Life for decades and was a founding member of Reach Out Pregnancy Center in Harrison, which has a great impact on many in the community and surrounding areas.  Edgar was a friend to many, and he taught his family about patience and love.  He enjoyed gardening and was a handyman that could fix just about anything.  Edgar and Rosalyn had been married for 64 years and in those years, they were the winner of multiple Anniversary Dances.  Edgar was a chemical operator working at Fernald and USI Research, which became Quantum Chemicals, where he retired.

Edgar will be dearly missed by his wife of 64 years Rosalyn Lohman; sons: Douglas (Maria) Lohman and Michael Lohman; cherished grandchildren: Claire, Nicholas, John, Anna, Grace & Luke; and 6 great grandchildren: Olivia, Liam, Christian, James Michael, Kailey, & Kristen; beloved sisters: Joan (Walter) Eckstein, Marilyn (James) Riehle; and many nieces, nephews, In-laws, cousins, and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his son: James Lohman; parents: Albert and Hilda (Riehle) Lohman; sister Alice and her husband Ralph Faust.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, from 3 pm to 7 pm at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St., Harrison, OH, A High Requiem Mass will be offered at St. Philomena and Cecilia Church, (Oak Forest) 16194 St Mary Rd, Brookville, IN 47012 on Wed., Jan. 5, 2022, at 11 AM.  Burial will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery. Fr. Howard L. Remski, FSSP will be officiating the services. 

The family asks that memorials be made to Reach out Pregnancy Center, Cincinnati Right to Life or Northern Kentucky Right to Life.  A funeral home representative will be available to accept memorials during the visitation and before the funeral mass. Vine Street, Harrison, OH 45030 made payable to one of the above charities or have a Mass said in his memory.
