Donald L. Anderson, of Harrison, passed away on April 20, 2021. He was born on July 22, 1931 in North Bend, Ohio to Frank and Anna (nee Redden) Anderson. Don was a hard worker and started his working career for the Railroad in the roundhouse. He learned a valuable trade of working with engines and used those talents throughout his life. Don was a mechanic and worked for many Automotive companies over the years from Andy’s Chevrolet and Hagg Ford. He also put his skills to work helping others that needed work done on their cars but couldn’t afford it. Don never met a stranger and if you met him he quickly became a friend. Being humble, kind, hardworking and having a sense of humor were traits that he passed on to his family.
He married Fern Louise Studer on September 20, 1952 and they were blessed with 62 years of marriage before she passed in 2014. Don was also preceded in death by his parents: Frank and Anna Anderson; siblings: Harlan Anderson, Katherine Clift, Charles Anderson, Rose James, Mary Bond, Russell & Paul Anderson and his daughter-in-law: Brenda Anderson.
Those left behind to carry on his legacy are his children and their spouses: Terry (Paula) Anderson, Paul (Deborah) Anderson, Barry (Leah) Anderson and Mary (Steve) Young; cherished grandchildren: Paul, Stephanie, Allison, Molly, Gabriel, Alex, Jacob, Andrew, & Azucena; loving grandpa of 6 great grandchildren and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Public visitation will be held at Brater Winter Funeral Home on Friday, April 23, 2021 from 11 am until the time of the funeral service at 1 pm. Due to covid requirements the funeral service will be for family and invited guests only. The services will be live streamed and can be located on the link below.
Doug Wallin will be conducting the funeral services for Don and burial will follow the services at Gibson Cemetery in Bright, Indiana.
