Dallas "Bud" Jones, of Harrison, Ohio passed away on Sunday November 7, 2021 at the age of 79. He was born in Whitley City, Kentucky to Obie P. and Elva (nee Vanover) Jones on June 14, 1942. He served in the US Army from 1962 to 1964. He married Janet C. "Jinny" Mushaben on May 1, 1965 and they were blessed with three children: Lorryn, Deenah and Sheila. Bud served with the Cincinnati Fire Department, retiring in 1978 and went on to serve as a pastor in the Harrison and surrounding areas. He was the pastor for the following churches: Addyston United Methodist Church, Associate Pastor at First Christian Church Harrison, and Integrity Gospel Church. He also served as the Chaplain of the Whitewater Township Fire Department for many years. Bud also served as community Spiritual Director for Southeast Indiana Emmaus and Chrysalis. His goal and purpose was always to serve our Lord by helping others grow a stronger faith connection with God. Bud was one of the kindest men and most willing servant, he touched many lives by sharing the word of God with them. After the loss of his wife in 2016 he started going to lunches with Mary Beth Doll. They enjoyed each others company and they married on April 7, 2018. Bud always loved to joke with others and he had a great laugh and a warm smile that will be missed by many.
Bud was preceded in death by his wife Janet C. "Jinny" (nee Mushaben) Jones in 2016; daughter: Deenah M. Jones, parents: Obie and Elva Jones ; and Son-in-law David Bruns.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife: Mary Beth (nee Rotert) Doll Jones; devoted daughters: Lorryn (Willie Byrd) Bruns, Sheila (Ben) Byrd; bonus sons: Ray (Jennifer) Doll, Andy (Debbie Poling) Doll, and Tim (Jessie) Doll; cherished grandchildren: Amanda (Stephen) Spreen, Stephanie (Damon) Roa, Brian (Judy) Bruns, Brad Bruns, Matthew, Brandon, Kyle (Hannah) and Cody Byrd; bonus grandchildren: Ben, Sam, Jacob, James, Riley, Allison, & Reagan Doll; great grandchildren: Maddison Wall, Ava Spreen, Olivia Roa, DJ Roa, Korbyn Bruns, and Theo Spreen; siblings: Shirley (Jack) Craft, Patty (Steve) Owens, and sisters-in-law: Nancy Allison, Barb (Jim) Bond.
Visitation will be held at Dearborn Hills United Methodist Church, 25365 Stateline Rd, Bright, Indiana, on Monday, November 15, 2021, from 10:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm. Burial to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Cleves, Ohio with the US Army providing Military honors.
