Corwin "Windy" Gerdes

Corwin “Windy” Gerdes, of Bright, IN, passed away on November 11, 2020 at the age of 82.  He was born in Cincinnati on March 7, 1938 to Harry and Della (nee Stern) Gerdes.  A graduate of Elder High School, he then served in the US Army from 1961 to 1963.  Windy married Mary Frances Penquite on May 7, 1966 and they were blessed with three children: Patty, Charles and Gail.  Windy was a TV Technician for Bigner TV.  In retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family, taking pictures, helping at St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross, wood working and doing yardwork.

Windy was preceded in death by his loving wife: Mary Frances Gerdes(nee Penquite); parents: Harry and Della Gerdes; siblings: Harry Gerdes, Rosemary Kessen and Martha Thompson.
Survivors include his children: Patty (Dave) Charest, Charles (Kelly) Gerdes, and Gail Samay; cherished grandchildren: Nicole & Luke Charest, Camryn & Cullen Gerdes, Brittany & Bret Samay; Sister-in-law: Kathy Moore and Brother-in-law: William (Connie) Penquite.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2020 from 9:30 am to 11:45 am at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine Street, Harrison, OH. Mass of Christian Burial will be held following at 12:30pm at St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross, 23670 Salt Fork Road, Bright, IN 47025. Burial with Military honors will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery (New), Cincinnati, Ohio. Masks will be required. Services will be recorded and uploaded to the website.
