Clarence Steinmetz, of Harrison, passed away on November 22, 2020 at the age of 92. Clarence was born in New Alsace, IN to Otto Steinmetz and Rosa Steinmetz. He joined the US Army and Served in the Korean War from 1950 to 1952. Clarence married Corena Freeman on September 5, 1953 in New Alsace, Indiana. Clarence worked for Fernald from 1953 and retired in 1990. In retirement, he enjoyed gardening and helped with the flowers at Harrison Building and Loan. Clarence also enjoyed watching baseball and taking bike rides in the park. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church since 1955.
Clarence was preceded in death by his loving wife Corena (nee Freeman) Steinmetz ; parents: Otto and Rosa (nee Lipps) Steinmetz; brothers: Joseph (Inez), Eugene, & Vernon (Joyce) Steinmetz; and Sister-in-law: Janet Steinmetz.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved children: Shirley (Ron) Lankert, Robert Steinmetz; Cherished Grandchildren: Russell Shockley, Sandra (Rob) Tyler, Kevin Steinmetz, Angela Olding, Kristopher (Kuniko) Lankert and Ronnie Lankert; Great Grandchildren (Living): Cole, Jacob, and Grace Shockley, Audrey and Maxwell Tyler, Abigail, & Avery Olding, Alexandria and Dallas Lankert. Also Survived by Brother Henry Steinmetz and many nieces and nephews. Sister-in-law: Dorothy Steinmetz.
Visitation will be on Monday, November 30, 2020 from 10 until 11 am for At Risk people; 11am to 12 pm for general public at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine Street, Harrison, OH 45030. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:30 pm at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 10022 Carolina Trace, Harrison, OH 45030. Graveside services to follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery
