Cheryl Ann Carpenter, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2024, at the age of 76. She was born on July 18, 1947, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to her parents, Daniel and Susie Fairchild. Cheryl held a special place in the hearts of those who knew her and leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Cheryl received her education at William Harrison High School and proudly graduated as part of the class of 1965. On June 30, 1966, she married the late Robert "Bob" Newhouse and accompanied him during his military service. Together, they built a beautiful family and were blessed with two sons, John and Patrick. Tragically, Cheryl became a single mother when Bob passed away on December 29, 1979.
With unwavering strength and determination, Cheryl balanced being a devoted mom and working to provide for her family. She dedicated many years of her life as a hardworking employee at KFC. Later, she found love again when she met and married Gary Carpenter in 1993.
Cheryl was a woman of simple pleasures, finding joy in reading books from the local library, tending to her garden, and spending time with her beloved pets. She had a fiery spirit and was never one to hold back when expressing her opinions, especially when watching her favorite television shows.
She cherished her time with her son John, going out for dinners and enjoying movie nights together. Cheryl's love for her family was boundless, and she was a devoted mother and doting grandmother to her grandchildren Ashley, Ryan, and Emma.
Cheryl will forever be remembered by her surviving sons: John Newhouse, Patrick and daughter-in-law Lisa. She also leaves behind her sister, Beverly, and her late brother-in-law, Frank Minges.
To honor Cheryl's life and bid her farewell, a visitation will be at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine Street, Harrison, OH on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A Blessingl service will on the next day, January 10, 2024, at 11:00 am at Brater Winter Funeral Home in Harrison. Graveside services will follow at GlenHaven Cemetery.
