Charlotte L. (Stead) McCoy, age 76, passed away on Saturday, May 28th after a long hard fight of Stage IV lung cancer. She had beat previous diagnosis of lung and breast cancer. She was a fighter to the very end.
She was born on July 3, 1945, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late William Sr. & Philomena (Rolfes) Stead.
Char fell in love with Denny at the young age of 12, after being introduced to him by his sister and her best friend, Monnie. While Denny was 5 years her senior, he attended her senior prom with her, and their love continued to blossom. She graduated Mother of Mercy High School in 1963. Charlotte and Dennis were married on April 16, 1966.
She was a hard-working and loving housewife, raising their children and taking care of the many fur babies that Denny would “rescue”. She also went to school at the age of 40 and received her cosmetology license, of which she was very proud.
Char loved her family with her whole heart. She spent many a summer at Indian Lake with her family and loved being by the water. She enjoyed watching her hummingbirds, sitting on the deck, and having bonfires. Char enjoyed road trips to Vegas, Arizona, Utah, Florida, & Mississippi. She also enjoyed trips to the casino, where she would often be found betting a penny while sipping on a beer or crème de menthe. Char loved life. She could make it a party out of a normal Tuesday. Sharing happiness, love, and her friendship with all who knew her. She was loved beyond measure and will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years: Dennis McCoy and their children: Denise McCoy (Tracy) & Brian McCoy (Billy).
Char was preceded in death by her parents: William Sr. & Philomena Stead; siblings: Anne, Phyllis, & William Jr.
