Cary Gauslin

Cary James Gauslin, of Harrison, passed away 6 days short of being 80 years old on March 4, 2023.  Cary was born on March 10, 1943 in Detroit, MI to Albert and Julia (nee DeVlieger) Gauslin.  When he was 6 years old his family moved to Clearwater, Florida.  Cary met his wife, Cheryl Hachey, through a co-worker at a dance. It took some time before they started dating however he won her over and they were married May 2, 1970.  They were blessed with 2 sons: Christopher & Matthew. Cary worked for Sears as a salesman.  He liked golfing and watching high school and college sports.  Elder High School, Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals and Nascar were up on the list of his favorites and he enjoyed going to events with friends and family.  Cary taught his family the value of a dollar and to spend it wisely. He also taught them how to treat others with kindness, compassion and to take time to get to know those you meet.

He was the loving husband of Cheryl Gauslin; dear father of: Matthew (Jane Durham) Gauslin & the late Christopher (Tricia) Gauslin; cherished grandpa of Clinton & Jared Gauslin; beloved brother of: Judy (Gary) Owen; brother-in-law of the late: Karen Hashey & Richard; son of the late: Albert & Julia Gauslin.  Cary was also a wonder uncle and friend.

Visitation will be held at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine Street, Harrison, Ohio 45030 on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 from 3 pm until the time of the Blessing Services at 6 pm.  

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society. A funeral home representative will be available to help with donations at the visitation. If unable to attend mail donations to Brater Winter Funeral Home.
