Carlie "Sonny" S. Jones

Carlie S. "Sonny" Jones, a devoted family man with an infectious sense of humor, peacefully passed away on November 17, 2023, at the age of 78. Born on January 19, 1945, in Manchester, KY to Dave and Tamsy (Hibbard) Jones. Sonny lived a life filled with love, laughter, and invaluable life lessons. He married Mary Russell and they were blessed with three sons: Carlos, Rodney and Jonathan.  They moved to West Harrison and Sonny was a fork truck driver for Campbell Hausfeld Co until his retirement.  Sonny and Mary were members at Chappelow Ridge Pentecostal Church.

One of Sonny's greatest joys in life was spending time with his sons, indulging in their shared passion for cars. Whether it was teaching them how to change oil, fix engines, or simply tinkering together in the garage, these moments created lasting memories and bonds that can never be broken. Through these experiences, Sonny taught his sons the importance of craftsmanship, diligence, and determination.

Sonny will always be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his family. He took great pride in being the pillar of strength for his loved ones, instilling in his sons the values of integrity, compassion, and hard work. His sons, having learned firsthand from their father, will forever cherish the lessons he imparted – teaching them how to be honorable men and how to well and truly love their spouses.

With a heart full of optimism, Sonny was known for his reassuring mantra, "Don't worry about it, it will be fine." His unwavering belief in the resilience of the human spirit not only eased the burdens of those he loved but served as an inspiration to all who knew him.
 
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife: Mary Jones; infant son: Jonathan Wayne Jones; daughter-in-law: Christina Jones; parents: Dave and Tamsy Jones; and brother: Shirley Jones.

Sonny is survived by his sons: Carlos Jones and Rodney (Kelley) Jones; grandchildren: Jeffery (Ashley) Jones, Derek (Andrea) Jones, Ashlee (Devon) Kidwell, Megan Jones, Logan (Quinton) Marker; great grandchildren: Liam & Abriella Jones, Emma & Lucas Jones, Elijah & Elliott Kidwell and Everly Marker.  Carlie was also a devoted brother of Donny Jones, Martin Jones, Mary Gregory, Phurbia Stenger, Darlene Cooper and Noah Jones and wonderful uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St., Harrison, OH, on November 27, 2023 from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at 11 AM.  Burial to follow at Gibson Cemetery.
