Bertha M Baker

Bertha M. (nee Peace) Baker, age 80, of Harrison, passed away on July 28, 2020. She was born on August 23, 1939 in Corbin, KY to Roy and Margie (nee Tye) Peace. She married Donald Baker and they were blessed with two children: Donald and Sheri. Many knew Bertha as the owner of the H&R Block for over 50 years. She was good to her employees and was active in the community. Bertha was always volunteering in her spare time. She was honored as First Lady of the Community by Beta Sigma Phi.

Bertha loved her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald; daughter Sheri Scherpenburg; and sister Debbie Dedden

Survivors include her son: Donald Baker; beloved grandchildren: Kristina Stegman, Kelly (Richard) Charette, Dustin Baker and Keegan Baker; cherished great grandchildren: Sophia and Josie Reichman. Also survived by a niece and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 3, 2020 from 5 PM to 7 PM at Brater-Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine Street, Harrison, OH 45030. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (10010 Carolina Trace Rd, Harrison). 

***Due to Guidelines provided by Hamilton County, all in attendance must wear a mask, keep 6 ft. distances with people that are not in your household and wash your hands regularly.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or Loving Hearts Hospice. You may make your donation at the funeral home or you may mail a check made payable to American Cancer Society, to Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine Street, Harrison, OH 45030. The funeral home will notify the family of your donation.
